Rockets 2006 Mission debrief:
2006 was a proud season for the Rockets.
We got off to a bit of a so-so start as we worked to integrate half a team worth of newbies and get it together...
So the grading games at the beginning of the season were a little average.
Nothing to complain about perhaps... just, um, average.
After the grading round we found ourselves bumped down a division within our 9th grade.
That was a bummer...
BUT WE WENT ON TO WIN THE NEXT TEN GAMES STRAIGHT!
In fact, for the remainder of the season there was an average of less than one goal scored against us per game.
Just look at our "goals for / against" differential of 44. Foo eh? Did that feel good!
WE CAME TO BE THE MOST FEARED TEAM IN OUR WEE MURIWAI DIVISION.
WE FELT WE HAD MADE A MARK FOR OUR RANUI-SWANSON A.F.C.
And it never rated a mention at the club prizegiving...
Here's to OUR celebration of the Rockets' achievements of the 2006 season then -

Looks as if we're not far from scoring another goal...
Y'know, you'd feel sorry for our goalie, being so bored and lonely down his end of the field.
But in actual fact the goalie's job has to be the hardest of all.
By the time he has to save it, it's got past EVERYONE else - but if he lets it slip through, do they all apologise to him for letting it get that far and putting him under all that pressure? Heck, no!
Just kidding - it's a team effort all the way. But hey, goalies rock too!

Jesse's just had a drink of Raro - good for the energy eh!
Dedication - where would we be without the dedicated support of coaching crew, family and friends?
No amount of rain can dampen those spirits!
